     Crystal Nurse is a native Trinidad and Tobago. In 1993 at the age of 13 she immigrated to the United States with her two younger brothers and her mother.  She enrolled as a student at Boys and Girls High School in Brooklyn,  New York.  While at Boys and Girls, Crystal was a member of the varsity basketball team and became  captain of the varsity tennis team. Four years later in 1997, she graduated from Boys and Girls High School with a Regents Diploma.  

 

      Directly after high school Crystal returned to Trinidad with her family and was employed at Bank of Commerce in the Human Resource Department as a Record Clerk. She was tasked with creating, implementing and updating their entire employee filing system in preparing for the changes ahead with the upcoming merger. She maintained that position for 2 years upon her subsequent return to the United States. 

 

      In 1999 she was employed at Republic Bank dba HSBC as a filing clerk. Within 6 months she was promoted to Secondary Marketing Associate.  She was responsible for the review, auditing, pooling and data of all closed residential loans to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.        


     In 2001, she returned to the job market and was employed as a Junior Underwriter at American Home Mortgage in Melville, New York. She remained employed at American Home for 4 years until 2006. 


     After 2 years she was laid off as the department downsized their staff. Crystal sought enhancing her college education would allow her pivotal upward mobility as a single parent, to include working full time. Crystal earned her Bachelor of Arts in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College in 2008.


     Between 2006 and 2009, she worked as an Executive Sales Assistant at World Alliance Financial in New York to the Executive Vice President, Vice President and Assistant Vice President. World Alliance Financial closed their doors in 2009 declaring bankruptcy.


     In 2009 Crystal was asked by the Executive Vice President freedom Wield Alliance Financial to come on board at United Northern Mortgage Bankers as Executive Sales Assistant. Helping build the Reverse Mortgage Sales department. From 2009 to 2012, after building the Reverse Mortgage platform, Crystal was promoted to Senior Reverse Mortgage Professor at United Northern Mortgage. Although Crystal loved Mortgage banking and being a highly regarded employee, she had a thirst for new opportunities.


     In 2013, she partnered with a United States Army Veteran who owned a failing family dental practice.   Together they rebuilt the practice. The practice prided itself in offering low cost dental care to residents in the community and free dental care for veterans. This was their way of giving back to the community being that the dental practice served the community for over 35 years. She continued managing the dental practice from 2013 thru 2016. 


     In 2015, she was approached by a Roman Catholic priest from Ghana regarding her leadership. Their friendship exposed Crystal to the poverty that exists amongst the forgotten youth beyond the shores of the United States. Crystal felt the urge to help, to make a change, thus Youth In Vision Ghana Inc. was conceived. Together with her friend, she formed the Not-for-Profit Organization.  


    Youth In Vision Ghana Inc. was started for the sole purpose of providing financial, educational, economic and other aid to indigent at risk youth in Ghana.


     In 2016, Crystal used various funding vehicles to provide aid to at risk youths in Ghana to include a satellite branch in her home country of Trinidad. Having difficulty securing funding to continue helping youths through various marketing contributions, donations and gift giving pledges from across the country.


      Crystal continues to enhance the capacity of her work through transportation services and has been a beacon of hope to many throughout Ghana and the continental United States as she continues her tireless effort to bring social, economic and financial stability to various regions of the world collectively.


     She currently resides in Brooklyn with her daughter who's actively in college.
