Housing Services

The Veterans Association of America, Inc. provides housing initiatives and referrals for those veterans and their families that are homeless on the street, in shelters, transitioning from the military with no family or family that can no longer provide residence, to include those with the greatest level of hardships.

The VAA along with the Veterans Development Initiatives, Inc, our sister organization will establish housing initiatives for all displaced veterans and their families by determining those who are eligible to receive such assistance.

Our goal is to service all veterans by locating specific housing accommodations that are determined eligible for housing vouchers. All service connected veterans must meet specific guidelines in order to be approved for voucher allotments.

Each former or current service member will be assigned a housing case worker that examines each participant on a case by case basis. If a veteran is found to be ineligible, case workers will provide them alternate housing options that best suit their immediate needs.

All housing will be assessed and evaluated by income, family composition, age, health, and medical condition. These are determining factors in our pre-selection of which veterans will have order of priority. There are special circumstances that our dedicated staff will determine as "critical" and handled accordingly.

The VAA looks to work with all local, state and federal entities such as Dept. of Housing & Urban Development (HUD), NYS Homes & Community Renewal Program, NYC Housing Preservation & Development (HPD), and all other housing programs by assisting with procuring funding appropriations and initiatives for our coveted heroes.

Please keep in mind that only veterans and the immediate family members of such veterans are eligible to apply.
